Music and me
Hey, my name is DreQuan Guyton. I was born and raised in Gaffney SC but I lived majority of my teenaged years in Spartanburg and graduated from Broome high school. Ummm... I would consider myself the middle child I have two older sisters and one younger brother. I've always been a competitive person and played football from 3rd grade through my sophomore year of high school, wrestled and ran track from my freshman through senior year of high school. When I started running, I began to build an unbreakable relationship with my coach, so I joined the cross-country team my 11th grade year which was a big culture shock for me. The times that I was running seemed to be good enough for me to run in college so here I am now! Now my goal is to graduate Converse and get a degree in Business Management.
1. Most recent music
I have a active passion in learning Spanish and become fluent so my favorite category is romance/ R&B. Listening to this music majority of the time will get me use to the pronunciation of words in the music and the familiarity of the word.
2. Music that connects to me personally
There is several songs that connects to me personally one is when I was just beginning to learn Spanish and somehow the song, I first learned fit the description so it's kind of a sad romantic song, but it also gave me some hope throughout hard times. Another song the connects with me personally is a song I found out about my freshman year of college when I was grateful for where I was but I felt like I didn't belong but this song gave me a sense of inspiration so I could continue to fight on and find victory within. So, when I feel discouraged at time this song gives me a sense of power and control.
In this song a guy realizes that he's in a bad situation with because his ex-girlfriend is not treating him right in the relationship, so he decides to leave her now she wants him back because she understands what has lost now it is too late. This helped me understand that relationships with anyone is just an experience weather it is good or bad because the is a detour on a road does not mean you still can't get to your designated location.
This song is basically based on a kid who had a bad deal of cards and made the best opportunity out of what he had but understand the hardship he went through and is grateful for the people that did and didn't help him. The people that helped him continue to his journey kept him in a positive mindset and the people that are negative challenged him to see how bad he wanted it.
3. Music that is not my taste
This genre is not my favorite time of music because their accents just seems weird to me and the beats are just not what im use to i grew up on rap and hip hop and this is the complete opposite
You can always count on Rod Wave to help with certain situations of your life with his music.
